Jury Grants $238,000 In Angel Fire Case.


A federal jury in Albuquerque awarded former State Treasurer David King $238,000 in compensation and punitive damages from his dismissal in 1999 from the post of Angel Fire village administrator, his attorney said.

The eight-person civil jury awarded King $188,000 in damages resulting from the loss of his post plus another $50,000 to be paid by former Mayor Barbara Cottam and Village Councilors Richard Hill and Eugene Erb.

King's lawyer, J. Edward Hollington of Albuquerque, said King expressed vindication when the verdict was read on Jan. …
