Grant Aims To Boost Tourism, Amenities

Members of the Turquoise Trail Association are working hard to make the 64-mile route a coveted tourist destination.

The Turquoise Trail, designated as a National Scenic Byway in June by the Federal Highway Administration, extends from the Sandia Ranger Station on N.M. 337 up N.M. 14 to Santa Fe and includes an offshoot up to the Sandia Crest. The Turquoise Trail Association works to promote tourism along the thoroughfare.

With a $212,940 grant from the FHA, association members are working on various projects they hope will improve tourist amenities along the trail and boost tourism. …
