* Stranded by snow and suffering from frostbite, Moriarty-area resident sets trailer on fire as call for help

A Torrance County woman was rescued by firefighters, sheriff's deputies and a television station's helicopter on Friday night after she lit her trailer home on fire to get emergency personnel to come to her aid.

Sheila Stevenson, 38, who lives at the end of a 2-mile-long dirt road near Walker and Chavez roads southwest of Moriarty, had walked to the trailer from N.M. 41 last Thursday, said Sheriff Pete Golden. He said her trailer does not have electricity, heat or phone service.
