9 May Be Ousted From School Land.

Santa Fe Public Schools, which has told one tenant to move by Feb. 20, may evict eight more maintenance and security employees who have lived free of charge on school property.

The nine tenants have lived in mobile homes without paying rent or utilities in exchange for providing maintenance and security services.

Total rent and utility payments from those tenants could amount to between $20,000 and $25,000 per year, according to the district Chief Operations Officer Ruben Mirabal.

Ernie Lopez, the school district printer, has lived on school property the longest five years on the Agua Fria Elementary School campus. …
