Some Suspensions Leave New Mexico Short-Handed

Despite being short-handed because of a slew of suspensions, the New Mexico Scorpions battled back from a two-goal deficit to disappoint San Angelo 3-2 in an overtime shootout Tuesday at Tingley Coliseum.

A sparse group of 2,647 fans watched the undermanned Scorpions overcome the adversity of having their leading scorer, Peter Ambroziak; the Western Professional Hockey League's top-scoring defenseman, Mark DeSantis; and the league's player of the month for January, Steve Zoryk, in street clothes with suspensions stemming from incidents in Saturday's game against Amarillo. …
