President Meets With 'Outsiders'.

* Bush tells reporters he will get input from those outside Washington

WASHINGTON He lives in the White House now, but President George W. Bush said Monday he is committed to keeping in touch with those in the far reaches of America.

He said that was why he invited seven reporters from different parts of the country, including Albuquerque, to the White House on Monday: So he could answer questions from reporters representing newspapers outside of the Beltway and discuss his plans.

"Not all the news is generated by people who live in Washington," Bush said at the start of Monday's session in the Roosevelt Room, just outside the Oval Office. "So, it makes sense, on a regular basis, for me to meet with people who are outside of the Capitol."

During a 45-minute interview, Bush fielded questions on issues ranging from public land use to restoring confidence in America's electoral system. …
