Both audience and performer got more adventure than expected Saturday night when the Popejoy Hall fire alarms went off in the second half of guitarist Paul Galbraith's concert. False, as it turned out, though enough to send a good portion of the audience home.

Back inside within 15 minutes, those who remained could move up for a closer view of the artist and his novel, 8-string classical guitar. Well, not so novel, as Galbraith and David Rubio, his English luthier, or string instrument maker, have noted.
