Lusterless Slam Can't Catch the Shooting Stars.(Sports)

The New Mexico Slam had a severe case of the ''couldn'ts'' Sunday afternoon.

The Slam couldn't shoot, they couldn't play defense, they couldn't hold onto the ball, they couldn't rebound, and they certainly couldn't beat the Trenton Shooting Stars.

Trenton (8-14) picked up an almost-easy 106-93 International Basketball League victory in front of 1,629 fans at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

The Slam (11-10) shot only 44.6 percent. When they weren't missing shots, they were throwing the ball away. New Mexico finished with 23 turnovers, including four each by its two point guards, Kiwane Garris and Lenny Holly. …
