A 58-42 vote of the U.S. Senate handed one of their own the keys to the Attorney General's Office on Thursday. Senators probably would have buried John Ashcroft's cabinet aspirations if he hadn't been a former colleague. Ashcroft himself played that game when he was in the Senate.
