Cibola Must Win To Stay in Hunt.(Sports)

If Cibola wants to remain a part of the District 1-5A boys basketball race, the Cougars probably must beat visiting Rio Rancho tonight.

The Rams (7-9 overall) bring their 3-1 district record into Cibola for a 7:30 p.m. game with the Cougars (9-8 overall), who are 3-2 in league.

Rio Rancho already has beaten Cibola, 44-43, and another Rams' win over their rival would likely end the Cougars' hopes for earning the league's regular-season crown. Cibola would, with a loss, fall 1 1/2 games behind Rio Rancho, which is more like 2 1/2 games back (with only five to go) since the Rams would have a season sweep.

Cibola is coming off a 52-21 rout of Gallup on Thursday night, while the Rams beat West Mesa 53-46. …
