Lawmaker Would Have Backed Aragon.(Legislature)

SANTA FE Sen. Linda Lopez, D-Albuquerque, said Friday she would have voted for Sen. Manny Aragon, D-Albuquerque, for Senate president pro tem if she had been at the Roundhouse the day he was ousted in favor of Richard Romero.

However, Lopez said she considers the pro tem issue over. She said the Senate needs to move on.

"It is time to move forward and work together in the Democratic caucus to unite behind our legislative agenda of educational improvement, better access to affordable health care and stimulating the New Mexico economy," Lopez said in a statement.
