The Unitarian Church will host a Black History Month extravaganza Saturday featuring storytelling, singing and step-dancing.

Showtime is 7 p.m. for "Threads of Unity," a talent showcase that will include the music of keyboardist Stu MacAskie and singer Joan Griffin. Keynote speaker and performer Maisha Baton will tell stories of some of the first blacks in Albuquerque and New Mexico.

Other entertainment will include African drums and dancers, American Indian dancers and performances by the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Step Drill Team, the Unitarian Church Choir, the Annointed Praise Dancers and the Lilies of the Valley Dancers. …
