Casinos pleased with Super Bowl turnout.(LOCAL)

Hundreds of football and casino fans fought heavy snow, ice-packed roads and blustery winds to be a part of Pojoaque Pueblo's Cities of Gold Super Bowl party Sunday. When the whistle blew ending the game, the Baltimore Ravens were not the only winners.

Bernadette McKale of Santa Clara was the winner of the 2001 Jeep Cherokee 4X4 while the three runners-up, collecting $500 each, were Guadalupe Ortega of Taos, Roseanne Ortiz of Las Vegas, N.M., and Phillip Guillen of Espanola. Carting off the giant- screen TV was Martha Wright of Santa Fe.

"Despite being slammed by the weather, our Super Bowl party was successful. We had a full casino. It was very gratifying. People really enjoyed themselves," said Cities of Gold marketing chief David Oakeley. …
