Novelist gets taste of star power.(Personalities)

Albuquerque novelist Kate Horsely is getting her 15 minutes of fame big time from a short article by Julia Roberts about the actress' favorite books.

Kate Horsely is none other than Kate Parker, who is an English instructor at the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute. Horsely is Parker's nom de plume, under which she has written three books, including "Crazy Woman."

The mention appeared in the February issue of O, the glossy magazine published by Oprah Winfrey. In the article Roberts said she liked "Crazy Woman" so much she read it in a day.

"That was a great luxury to actually sit down with a whole day free, start a book and like it enough to just barrel right through. I got up once, I think, to get a cup of coffee," Roberts wrote.

Roberts lives on what she describes as her "little ranch in New Mexico," which is near Taos. …
