Residents Fear Noise And Effect on Bosque

North Valley residents fired questions Thursday at the man leading Albuquerque's effort to start diverting water from the Rio Grande and delivering it to customers.

The residents asked about water-conservation efforts, how the diversion plan would affect the bosque and whether construction noise would bother their neighborhoods.

More than 20 people attended the two-hour meeting at the Alameda Community Center.

Before taking questions, John Stomp the city's water resources manager gave a short presentation on the San Juan-Chama Project, which diverts water from the Colorado River basin into New Mexico. …
