Veterans To Honor WW II Chaplains.

RIO RANCHO The Rio Rancho Veterans Honor Guard will hold a memorial service Sunday to honor four World War II chaplains who went down with a sinking ship after giving their life vests to others.

On Feb. 3, 1943, an Allied troop ship was torpedoed by a German submarine in the North Atlantic. The ship began to sink and survivors of the explosion put on life vests and got into life rafts, according to a news release from the honor guard. …
