* Firefighters answer call to bring new life into Albuquerque

Firefighters from the Albuquerque Fire Department's Station 14 found themselves attending to something other than a blaze last Sunday a screaming, about-to-deliver mother to be exact.

"We got to the house and she was screaming and yelling," said Capt. Bob Hartley. "The child's head was already popping out."

Hartley and fellow firefighters Mario Santiago, Mike Sedillo and Ted Ortiz delivered the healthy, 7 pound, 8 1/2-ounce baby boy around 10 p.m. Sunday and were just cutting the umbilical cord when the ambulance arrived.

"It was really sudden," said Christiana Montoya, Brandon's mother. …
