Suit Filed Over Alleged Attack on Boy.

The Espanola Public Schools district is being sued by a father who claims his son was stabbed in class by an Espanola Middle School teacher armed with a pencil.

Max C. Martinez of Espanola filed the suit last month in district court in Santa Fe on behalf of his son, Max J. Martinez Jr.

Named as defendants are the state of New Mexico, the Espanola school board, the Espanola school district, former Superintendent Patricia Archuleta, former Espanola Middle School Principal Margarito Uranga and middle-school teacher Michael Sanchez.
