Planning Dept. Needs To Catch Up on Work

TAOS In a move designed to give the Taos County Planning Department time to catch up on pending subdivisions and hire additional personnel to handle the workload, the county Board of Commissioners has imposed a 120-day moratorium on new subdivision applications.

The moratorium takes effect March 31.

The Planning Department has 23 subdivision applications under review, which will continue to be processed during the interim.

The department has been short-staffed since February 2000, when then-Planning Director David Di Cicco resigned. A code enforcement officer resigned later that spring. …
