Guadalupe Fine Art has long been a venue for art that is inward-looking, visionary and psychologically engaging. This week, Heather Gorham is featured in an exhibit that will run through March 28 at the gallery at 403 Canyon Road.

Gorham's paintings and mixed-media pieces speak quietly and convey certain states of mind by means of metaphor. One of the most striking of the allegorical figures on display, titled "Oh, These Thoughts of Mine," is a woman whose hair is a tornado. This ultimate updo swirls at a high rate of speed, carrying a dog, a school bus and bits of debris aloft. …
