With all these blues shows rolling through Santa Fe (Corey Harris, the North Mississippi Allstars and Shemekia Copeland among them), you may have blues on the mind. Here are a couple of brand-new blues releases by two of that genre's notables that will soon hit the bins. Both John Hammond and R.L. Burnside have played Santa Fe in the past, and rumor has it we will see at least one of them again before the year's out.

The best album of John Hammond's long career, "Wicked Grin" (Pointblank/Virgin) is actually a collection of hip Tom Waits songs that Hammond adapts to his own style. …
