That sounds familiar: Pop. Pop. Pop. But for the life of me, I just can't place it.

Let's see, it's not my breakfast cereal. Can't be my knees as I step out of my automobile that's more of a crackling sound. It's certainly not gunfire. Hunting season's over and random shootings just don't happen in this neck of the woods.

Oh yeah, now I remember. It's the pleasant sound of baseballs smacking into leather gloves.

Excuse my memory lapse. A tortuously long season of indoor sports and nasty weather must have had me thinking baseball season would never get here.
