City Man Pleads In Heroin Case.

20-Year Sentence, Big Fine Possible

Robert Berardinelli Jr., member of a prominent Santa Fe family, agreed to a plea in December in which he will give information about an alleged drug operation that funneled heroin to the Santa Fe and Espanola areas for three years.

Berardinelli, son of the former owner of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque to maintaining a place for distributing drugs.

As part of the plea, charges against Berardinelli of conspiracy to distribute more than 1 kilogram of heroin and distribution of heroin were dropped, his attorney said. …
