New Mexico Hasn't Been Voted Off Island Yet.(Sports)

It's not in the Australian Outback, nor on a deserted island. But the University of New Mexico men's basketball team already must feel like it has received a couple of votes to remain among the survivors at least in the Mountain West Conference.

After yet another stimulating overtime victory, the Lobos hope their seemingly charmed season continues tonight at the Pit against Wyoming another pretty serendipitous team. The winner takes sole possession of the Mountain West Conference lead.

New Mexico (13-4, 3-1) is riding the momentum of Saturday night's 72-71 overtime win against Colorado State, UNM's third win in a school record-tying fourth OT game this season. But it will need to have plenty of giddy-up to stop an ornery Wyoming bunch that features the league's top rebounding-scoring combination in Josh Davis and Marcus Bailey. …
