Lobos Have Shortage Of Field Goals.(Sports)

FORT COLLINS, Colo. The New Mexico women's basketball team couldn't overcome field-goal scoring droughts of 6 minutes, 39 seconds in the first half and 4:16 in the second half Saturday afternoon.

As a result, the Lobos dropped a 65-58 decision to Colorado State before 2,243 fans at Moby Arena.

While the loss stopped UNM's four-game Mountain West Conference winning streak and dropped the team to 13-7 overall, 4-2 in league play, the game at least was different from last season. In 2000, the Lobos stumbled and bumbled to a 79-51 loss to the Rams (14-4, 3-2).

Last season, CSU fans started cheering, "Load the bus, load the bus" at UNM with more than 10 minutes remaining. …
