Documents Show 3 Convicted For Counterfeiting.(Metropolitan)

Authorities have put a dent in an Albuquerque ring that allegedly put thousands of dollars in counterfeit bills on the streets.

Federal court documents say four people have been arrested in the case, including Gilberto Alvarez-Gonzalez, 36, who allegedly used a computer, scanner, color copier and printer to make the faux money. The others were arrested last year and have since been convicted and sentenced.

The documents say the group has made or tried to pass more than $11,000 in counterfeit bills.
