WASHINGTON Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan's conditional support of a tax cut should give the proposal significant political momentum on Capitol Hill, Sen. Pete Domenici said Thursday.

"It certainly won't hurt those of us who are trying to get a tax cut written into the budget resolution," Domenici, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and a Republican from New Mexico, said in an interview.

"There is no question that without endorsing any specific tax plan, Alan Greenspan has indicated that there will be plenty of room for a tax cut," Domenici added.
