Some Councilors Upset With Lobbying Contract.

A $40-an-hour lobbying contract Santa Fe City Manager Frank DiLuzio awarded this month to a city paralegal is drawing complaints from city councilors, some of whom already were questioning the top administrator's future with the city.

Geri Bowen, a full-time paralegal in the City Attorney's Office, was tapped by the administration to lobby state representatives this year on behalf of the city, which is seeking millions of dollars for water projects, a commuter rail to the Eldorado subdivision and a new library. Bowen's work, not to exceed $4,999 this year, is being done after her normal work hours, City Attorney Peter Dwyer said, and the contract is to compensate her for the additional efforts. …
