Snowstorm Slides Out Of Area.

Tuesday's winter storm had largely spent itself by early evening over northern New Mexico. But what it left behind was expected to remain a headache into this morning.

Snowfall across most of the region amounted to a couple of inches Tuesday with scattered flurries continuing into the night. Most of it, though, fell during the afternoon, turning to ice when the sun went down.

"Oh yeah. All the vehicles are off the roadway along U.S. 84/285 from Santa Fe to Espanola," a State Police dispatcher said late Tuesday. "I've had two people call saying it took them three and a half hours to get from Santa Fe to Chimayo" a drive of about 50 miles. …
