The case against the parents of Anamarie Regino-Martinez, which the state used to remove her from home for two months last fall, has been dismissed. Romaine Serna, of the Children, Youth and Families Department, called it "a very happy ending."

Perhaps for CYFD, but not for the rest of New Mexico, and most likely not for Adela Martinez and Miguel Regino, Anamarie's parents.

Anamarie's size a rare genetic condition caused her to be 3 1/2 feet tall and weigh 120 pounds at 3 years old was said to be life-threatening and was given as a reason for stripping her away from her parents last August.

CYFD, which operates under a mantle of secrecy, argued that the judge should muzzle everyone involved in the case. …
