Aragon Holds On To Pro Tem Hopes

SANTA FE An increasing number of Senate Democrats are saying they don't want to revisit the president pro tem election, in which longtime leader Manny Aragon was toppled a week ago by Richard Romero.

"We're doing well, and so long as things work good, there's no reason for us to return to the old ways," said Sen. Carlos Cisneros, D-Questa, in an interview. "I can't imagine a scenario that would get us back. We're too far into the session to start to unravel things."

Cisneros is among about a half-dozen Senate Democrats who supported Aragon a week ago but now say the Senate needs to move on. …
