Woman Acquitted In Crash Offers Plea.

After being acquitted of killing or injuring five young women in a 1998 car crash, Consuelo Gallegos pleaded no contest Tuesday to six other pending charges.

"I really want this to be over," Gallegos told state District Judge James Hall at a plea hearing Tuesday.

Gallegos, 18, of Espanola pleaded no contest to two charges of assault, two charges of harassment, and one count each of battery and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.

Hall could sentence Gallegos to up to two years in the state girls' school, but Assistant District Attorney Kathleen "Kit" Ayala is recommending two years of probation as part of the plea deal. …
