* Artist and blacksmith husband creating unique bus stop shelter

Seven months pregnant with her second child, artist Christy Hengst and her blacksmith husband are racing against biology to complete a steel-and-tile bus stop shelter at the railroad yard in downtown Santa Fe.

Hengst cut more than 670 tiles from a sheet of clay to create a detailed map of Santa Fe for the shelter, leaving the ceramic puzzle to cook and cool in a kiln last weekend.

The map will be mounted on a steel backboard that will be designed and constructed by her spouse, German-born blacksmith Helmut Hillenkamp, to mimic an elastic canvas pinned down at the corners.
