LOS ALAMOS You might say the St. Pius Sartans were stricken with a legitimate fear of rejection Monday night.
With Los Alamos 7-footer Chris Jackson patrolling the paint and swatting anything within his long reach, St. Pius' offense had perhaps its poorest outing of the season in a 67-54 boys basketball setback to the top-ranked Hilltoppers in Los Alamos.
St. Pius, the third-ranked team in Class 4A, fell to 12-4 overall and 1-1 in District 2-4A. Los Alamos (11-5 overall) snapped a three-game losing streak and is also 1-1 in league.
