Village Considers Ban On Phone Use in Cars.

Driving through Corrales? Soon you may have to hang up that phone.

Corrales village councilors will discuss whether to propose an ordinance banning the use of cell phones while driving within the village at tonight's meeting.

Mayor Gary Kanin has said he received a letter from a resident asking the village to look into banning cell phone use by drivers in the village, according to minutes of the Jan. 9 council meeting.

The item is on the agenda for discussion only and no action will be taken.

The council is also set to discuss adding two deadlines to an existing land-use ordinance that outlines the process developers must follow to gain approval of site development plans. …
