Rebels' Bench Leads the Way

LAS VEGAS, Nev. The opportunity was there. The University of New Mexico men's basketball team was not.

Playing without its best two players most of the night, UNLV still had more than enough firepower to take an 80-72 victory over the Lobos late Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The loss was the first for UNM (12-4, 2-1) in the Mountain West Conference. It also capped a tough, two-game road swing that saw the Lobos get pounded 75-44 at top-ranked Stanford on Saturday.
