Stomach/intestinal problem may be cause of cat's vomiting.

Q: Our male cat is 11 years old. He almost always acts like he's starving, and eats so fast he throws up. Our vet ruled out diabetes, thyroid, or pancreas trouble. This has been going on since he was a kitten. Are there other conditions that may be causing this? Or is it more of a learned behavior, just being a pig?

Dr. Nichol: Must one learn to be a pig? Are there courses in porcine behavior? All this time I thought it just came naturally, you know, a talent like playing the saxophone.

I do not believe your cat is a pig but instead a cat with a stomach and/or intestinal problem. His diagnostic workup sounds OK as far as it has gone. …
