Courthouse, Civic Plaza Sites Of Inauguration Day Protests.(New Mexico & The West)

Andrew Jandacek was thrown to the ground and handcuffed in front of the U.S. District Court building in Albuquerque on Saturday just a few hours after George W. Bush was installed as the 43rd president of the United States.

The confrontation underscrored that not only was it inauguration day in Washington, D.C., it also was inauguration protest day in Albuquerque and many other cities.

Still stinging from the contested election of President Bush, more than 50 protesters gathered in front of the federal courthouse at Lomas and Fourth carrying signs that read, "Hail to the Thief," "Our Votes Were Bush Whacked," and "Abort Bush. …
