Gov. Walks Out of Hospital Two Days After Fall Injures Back.(New Mexico)

SANTA FE Gov. Gary Johnson was released from St. Vincent Hospital on Friday morning after spending two days being treated for a spine injury suffered in a fall.

"He's feeling better, and he's in minimal pain," said Diane Kinderwater, his press secretary.

Johnson suffered compression fractures of two vertebrae in his chest cavity when he slipped on ice and landed on his back while running near his rented Santa Fe home early Wednesday morning. The governor's mansion is being renovated.

The 48-year-old governor walked out of St. Vincent wearing a plastic brace around his chest and was taken home by his security detail, Kinderwater said. …
