Bernalillo County officials could take a line from sports agent Tom Cruise in the movie "Jerry Maguire:" "Show me the money."
County officials were upbeat during 1999 groundbreaking ceremonies at the amphitheater now called Journal Pavilion, predicting $700,000 a year in revenue from the county's deal with SFX Entertainment.
SFX, the world's largest concert promoter, operates Journal Pavilion under a contract with the county. SFX promoted 24 shows that attracted 180,000 people in the venue's first season.
But so far, the county says, it hasn't seen a dime.
SFX and the county agreed to share the $4 million projected costs of building the amphitheater. …
