Texas-based chain to open China Star in NE Heights.(Dining)

Coming soon to the Northeast Heights is China Star, a new six-unit Chinese restaurant chain based in Texas. China Star will open about March 1 in the home of a former Luby's Cafeteria at Juan Tabo and Lomas. The restaurant features a 100-item buffet and prides itself on cooking with high-quality ingredients and providing great service, said owner Frank Su.

"Variety is huge and quality is very good. That's why we have a good name," Su said.

This version of China Star has locations in Abilene, Lubbock, Amarillo, Austin, Wichita Falls and Killeen, and previously owned restaurants in Clovis and Roswell, but sold those last year. …
