Judge Delays Murder Trial Until Feb. 26.

GRANTS Jeffrey Taylor's murder trial was supposed to start Thursday in Grants but was instead postponed by 13th District Judge Louis P. McDonald when only 47 of 71 potential jurors showed up.

District Attorney Lemuel Martinez added that postponing the trial was necessary because 47 people is too small of a jury pool for a first-degree murder case.

Taylor's trial tentatively has been rescheduled for Feb. 26, Assistant District Attorney Mark Benford said Thursday outside court.

Taylor has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other charges in the 1998 shooting death of Nancy Noren of Rio Rancho. …
