Funds To Help City Develop Master Plan

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded Double Eagle II Airport a $750,171 grant to help develop a master plan and determine improvements at the city-owned facility.

Jay Czar, aviation director for the city of Albuquerque, said Thursday the grant money will decrease the city's share of funding for the master plan.

The city's share will be about $83,000, Aviation Department spokeswoman Maggie Santiago said Thursday.

The city applied to the FAA for the grant in July, she added.

Czar said he is glad the FAA recognized the need to develop a master plan for the airport. …
