Acreage of Proposed Municipality Cut

A committee working to incorporate part of the East Mountains area along N.M. 14 as a new municipality decided Monday to scale down its boundaries to 1,764 acres.

The southern boundary of the area proposed for incorporation now lies just north of Canoncito Road and the Turquoise Trail Center. The area extends north to include parts of Sandia Park up to San Antonito Elementary School, incorporation committee member Valerie Anderson said Tuesday.

It also includes land to the east along Frost Road, including Sandia Knolls.
