Drugs Suspected Motive in South Valley Slaying.(Metro & New Mexico)

Carlos Herrera apparently had no reservations about dealing heroin out of his mother's South Valley home, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department. But he apparently didn't want his customers using it there.

Herrera is suspected of killing one of his clients at the house earlier this week after the customer injected the drug there.

Herrera was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of shooting and killing 30-year-old Jeanette Monica Vargas early that morning at his mother's home on Rosendo Garcia SW.

A criminal complaint filed against the 22-year-old Herrera in Metropolitan Court said, according to one witness, Vargas came to the home and asked to buy heroin from Herrera, whom she had bought from in the past. …
