Murder Trial Opens in Grants.

Jeffrey Taylor was just 22 when he was arrested in July 1998, for allegedly breaking into the Rio Rancho home of then-missing Nancy Noren and stealing her cars.

Nearly three years and three defense attorneys later, Taylor's first-degree murder trial in Noren's shooting death begins today in Grants.

Taylor has pleaded not guilty to his charges before 13th District Judge Louis P. McDonald.

Rio Rancho police arrested Taylor July 31, 1998 after he led officers on a high-speed chase in northern Rio Rancho. Police said Taylor was driving Noren's car at the time and investigators later learned that Noren hadn't been seen since July 17, 1998. …
