Los Alamos, White Rock Dig Out After Storm.

LOS ALAMOS By Wednesday, the two locations of Metzger's True Value Hardware stores here and in White Rock had run out of snow shovels.

People in the hilltop towns were digging out from under a foot of snow that fell between Monday night and the late hours of Tuesday. Old Man Winter's delivery to Los Alamos was among the heaviest in northern New Mexico.

Augustine Garcia, a landscaper when snow is not falling, was finishing his 6 a.m.-to-2 p.m. snow-clearing shift Wednesday outside the De Colores Restaurant and Lounge.

He was ready to put up his shovel and have a hot cup of coffee.

"This is kind of nice, as long as we have April showers, too," Garcia said. …
