Three Child-Abuse Indictments Added

A Santa Fe woman whose three young children allegedly were found alone in a dirty apartment with almost no food in November was indicted Friday by a grand jury on three counts of child abuse.

The woman, Corine Martinez, 21, was previously indicted in December on charges of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and larceny over $250.

All the charges against Martinez stem from a Nov. 9 police investigation into a motor-vehicle theft, which led officers to Martinez's Zepol Road apartment, where her children reportedly were found dirty, hungry and unsupervised.

After the November arrest, Martinez pleaded innocent to the child-abuse allegations in Magistrate Court. …
