The Valley High School cluster could become the first in Albuquerque to take part in a learning experiment sending young children to class earlier and teen-agers to school later.

Albuquerque Public Schools Superintendent Brad Allison has been urging schools to try the new schedule. Biological studies show elementary children tend to be active in the early morning and sluggish in the afternoon. Teens, meanwhile, are slow to start every day but become alert as the afternoon approaches.
