Entries Accepted For Junior Duck Stamp.


A scholarship of $2,000 is being offered to the winning New Mexico entry in the 2000-2001 Junior Duck Stamp Design program, open to students in grades K-12 attending public or private schools or enrolled in home-school programs.

The design contest is part of a nationwide conservation education program sponsored the by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Bosque del Apache is the New Mexico administrator. Deadline for finished design entries is March 15.

Trained outreach volunteers are available to visit classrooms to explain the program and entry requirements.

New Mexico's "Best of Show" will compete with winners from the 49 other states to select the design for the 2001 Junior Duck Stamp, sold at the refuge bookstore and locations nationwide, with proceeds supporting scholarships, awards and conservation education. …
